Double Drag Tap

What is a double drag tap?

The Double Drag Tap adds an extra drag to create a denser pattern. The basic structure is:

• Two drags followed by a tap: llRllRL or rrLrrLR
• Accent on tap at the end of each triplet
• Creates a rolling sequence with a distinct triplet feel

Precision in grace note control is what can make or break this rudiment. Start slow and focus on:

• Clean, quick grace notes
• Strong accents on the taps
• Even spacing between drags
• Smooth flow to the tap
