What is a single flammed mill?
The Single Flammed Mill combines flams with a reverse paradiddle, also known as a mill (RRLR or LLRL). The basic structure is:
- Flam tap followed by a mill: lRRLR and then flip that to start with your opposite hand: rLLRL
- Each new grouping starts with a flam
- Pattern repeats, switching lead hands
Before approaching this rudiment, make sure you have your flams and paradiddles down. Then, focus on:
- Precise flam spacing
- Even doubles after the flam
- Consistent hand transitions
- Smooth flow between groups
