Lesson 25

What is lesson 25?

Lesson 25 is a hybrid rudiment combining drags and rolls. The basic structure is:

• Three notes in a grouping, the first of which is a drag: llRLR
• Last note of each grouping is accented

In this rudiment, it is important to work on having clean transitions. Start slow and focus on:

• Quick, light drag grace notes
• Even roll spacing
• Strong accents on last note of each three-note grouping
• Smooth flow between sections
