What is a flam tap?

The Flam Tap combines flams with taps between hands. In other words, it’s a double stroke roll where each first accented note flammed. The basic structure is:

• Flam followed by a single note (or tap): lR R or rL L
• Flam is accented
• Alternates between hands

Mastering this rudiment requires precise flam timing. Start slow and focus on:

• Consistent flam spacing
• Even volume on taps
• Clear distinction between flams and taps
• Smooth hand-to-hand motion
