Paradiddle-Diddle

What is a paradiddle-diddle?

This is a unique pattern that adds an extra diddle (double stroke) to the single paradiddle. The basic structure is:

  • Sticking pattern is RLRRLL
  • First note of each six-note sequence is accented
  • Creates a rolling, triplet-like feel

Mastering this comes down to achieving solid sticking control. Start slow and focus on:

  • Clean doubles on each hand
  • Strong accent to start the pattern
  • Even spacing between all notes
  • Smooth flow between sequences
