Flamacue

What is a flamacue?

The Flamacue is a five stroke roll but with the first and last notes flammed. The basic structure is:

• Sticking pattern is lRLRL lR and then you flip that in reverse and start with the opposite hand: rLRLR rL
• First note (flam) and last note are accented
• Five-note pattern total

The way to get the Flamacue right is by learning to control the intensity of your strokes. Start slow and focus on:

• Clean flam execution
• Even taps between accents
• Strong final accent
• Consistent rhythm throughout
